The new C.Scope MXL4 Precision Locator and MXT4 Transmitter represent a significant advance in cable detecting and tracing capabilities. Innovative new features have been introduced enabling the MXL4 Locator and MXT4 Transmitter to provide high-end precision performance and a far more flexible approach to pipe and cable location.
The MXL4 is able to quickly and accurately detect, pinpoint, trace and identify the widest range of pipes and cables. Optimised Locator Sensitivity and Noise Rejection means that the MXL4 can deal with the highest levels of background interference found, allowing even the weakest of signals to be detected successfully.
Intelligent features such as PeakHold allow operators to confidently pinpoint the exact position of buried services. A clever AlarmZone™ feature alerts operators to the presence of particularly shallow pipes or cables with the exact trigger depth adjustable by the user to best suit local requirements. And a dynamic SwingSensor gently alerts the operator if the Locator is being swung excessively, potentially compromising the accuracy of any locates.
The MXT4 Transmitter now has a greater range of transmitting frequencies allowing improved long distance tracing and utility identification, even on the most congested of sites. A range of frequencies from 512/640Hz up to 131kHz and including the simultaneous dual-frequency 33kHz and 131kHz signal output is ideal for maximising the number of buried services that can be energised and then detected. The MXL4 can apply these frequency signals without direct connection to buried services, using either a Signal Clamp or the simple induction method from ground level, providing a significant improvement in the detection of the smaller diameter or poorly earthed cables.
The MXT4’s fully adjustable One Watt Power Output means that deeper pipes and cables can be effectively energised and then traced over ever longer distances.
To compliment and support in-built data logging on the MXL4 Locator, the MXT4 Transmitter also has full data logging capability. A years worth of data can be stored, in normal usage, on both the Locator and Transmitter. This can be conveniently transferred at any time via a USB cable to a PC or wirelessly via Bluetooth™ (model dependent) to a PC, tablet or smartphone to supervisors for analysis.
The free-to-download C.Scope PC Toolkit and Relay smartphone App analyses the stored data allowing training requirements to be quickly identified. In-built GPS models also allow a record to be kept of pipe and cable routes that have been traced and exactly where the Locators have been used.
These records can then be viewed in partnership with Google Earth™ or Google Maps™. Additionally, the Locators can be paired to third-party GPS Survey equipment, via the Locators in-built Bluetooth™ providing centimetre accurate recording of traced pipe and cable routes.
The MXL4 Locators and MXT4 Transmitters do not require periodic recalibration. A fully Automatic Daily Self Test (ADST) tests and confirms that the Locator and the Transmitter are functioning at their optimum level each day. The result of each ADST is recorded and stored within the data files and can be used to produce a Product Validation Certificate using the C.Scope PC Toolkit. C.Scope authorised Service Centres are also able to provide third-party Test and Calibration Certification should you require it to comply with client or internal regulations.
The MXL4 Locators and MXT4 Transmitters retain the reliability and durability expected of all C.Scope products and now come with a Three Year Warranty.
